What was that Instrumental song?
Last Friday evening (6/19/09) between 7:25 and 7:35pm ZLX played a great instrumental song. Can anyone tell me the name of the song and the recording artist?? Thanks!

Well, since nobody has answered yet, I'll guess...
Here are a couple of awesome instrumentals:
"Fire On High" from Electric Light Orchestra (aka ELO) (from the album Face The Music)
and
"Frankenstein" from The Edgar Winter Group (from the album They Only Come Out At Night)
After these songs are played, I notice DJs sometimes say that people have called in to ask what the song was. If you're not already familiar with these song titles and you end up searching them, you might have some difficulty identifying "Fire On High" if you only get a small clip of the intro, because it's quite different than the rest of the song.
Hope that helps.

~S~, thanks for tyour help, but neither of your suggestions was the correct instrumental. Does anyone have any other suggestions...there can't be that many instrumentals that ZLX plays...how about, DJ's?

Do you think it could have been "Whammer Jammer" by the J. Geils Band?
It could have also been "Foreplay" by Boston, which leads into the song "Long Time"

AeroHendrix : Of course! Another awesome possibility!

On the subject of lead-ins, that makes me think of "Eruption" by Van Halen, which goes into "You Really Got Me".
meb55: I hope you are soon able to find out which song you're looking for!

I thought of another one...I've only heard ZLX play it every once in a great while: "YYZ" by Rush.
Good luck!

Yes, I've got more. Some great instrumentals that can be heard on ZLX are
"Black Mountain Side" by Led Zeppelin
"Jessica" by the Allman Brothers
Have any yet so far been the one you were looking for?
