This holiday weekend through New Years Eve, enjoy The WZLX Decade Download on ZLX.
It's the 1,000 most downloaded Classic Rock songs from the past 10 years. 5 decades of music... encapsulated in a decade-end rewind of the most downloaded.
We'll keep a running list... but we're curious... some of us have purchased several generations of music.
What songs/albums have you purchased the 8 track, the album, the cassette, the CD... and now have digitally downloaded?

Led Zep. There should be a government rebate if you bought the same album 5 times over every time technology changes. Suprised Obama hasn't passed that bill yet!

Re: The WZLX Decade Download!
I finally bought a turntable with a usb port so I can record all of my albums, however...
I've downloaded every Bruce album. Every one of them. From album to cd to mp3.
And oddly enough back to vinyl again. I've picked up Devils and Dust, Magic and Working on a Dream on vinyl.
So many choices...
Just as a side note, and I'm not saying this because you play his syndicated show, but when you look at how many times Alice Cooper is on this top 1000 list and and think that he is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Abba is,well... Let's just hope we understand what rock and roll actually means in the next decade. There is nothing more iconic to rock and roll than the opening riff to School's Out.
Happy New Year folks. And thanks for a great week of music.

Re: The WZLX Decade Download!
The WZLX decade download was a highlight of my Christmas and new year. It was an opportunity to hear new music and find favorites. I used up all my gift cards on songs like these, and I even contributed to songs in my own right. Well, the list was great in its entirety, seeing that it was just a list of results, (not picked out) and how it was a list of 1,000 songs (more variety). All the top picks are great ones. I was next decade would come a little sooner.
